Quite a few songs I don't recognize on Positive Life's 2008 list ...

Don't know if anyone has heard some of these songs ... but if you have and like one of them let us know I'll buy/share it around.  Also there's a current list of "top songs" on the Music-tab at www.plr.org if anyone is interested.  I ordered up 4 of the most recent Hillsong United CDs, so when those get here I'd like to figure a way to share some of those tracks around as well.
20. Natalie Grant - I Will Not Be Moved
19. Third Day - Call My Name
18. Matt Maher - Your Grace is Enough
17. Fee - All Because of Jesus
16. MercyMe - You Reign
15. Meredith Andrews - You're Not Alone
14. Chris Sligh - Empty Me
13. Lincoln Brewster - Love the Lord
12. Matthew West - You are Everything
11. Casting Crowns - Every Man
10. Big Daddy Weave - What Life Would be Like

video sites

As Jake suggested, I perused one of the suggested sites (quickly) and saw some good videos. One that I thought could be used sometime in service is "Letter from God" at Worshiphousemedia.com (did I get that right?).
So, this is just a run-through for the process!

NOTES : [additional thoughts, pleas for comments, etc.]

Hi, Everyone--Our team/blog has been silent for a few weeks (except for Marlene's new post---thanks Marlene---that could be a great resource) due to some uncertainty about how this all works.

We are still hoping for your involvement and input, so please don't give up on us. As soon as we figure it out, we will have a get-together and discuss and explain, and have time for questions and even demonstrations!

In the meantime, keep your ears out for good music and feel free to post.

We'll be in touch! Thanks everyone---Nancy

Breaking the rules ...

So - sue me.

I was reviewing a website that I subscribed to when I was doing Jake's job but had not looked at since I quit. It has several free mp3 downloads of good worship songs. Some are not so new and some may be totally non-Timberview genre. However, I thought the rest of you might enjoy checking it out.

Who knows? Maybe you'll find something you like.

I was wondering if you all might be interested in helping find illustration videos for upcoming sermon topics.  THIS IS NOT THE SAME AS filming & editing videos, it's more viewing videos and selecting stuff that's well-done, clearly conveyed, and worth putting in a service along similar topic lines.

June 7 the sermon is about "living with Self-control"  ... if you have minutes and are willing to "surf" the following sites it'd be wonderful.  If you find something, just copy/paste the URL into a comment on this post so we can all go have a look.  Usually we're looking for shorter more poignant videos 1.5-3 minutes, but many times the best stuff is longer and beth just edits it down a bit.

There may be other sites as well ... and certainly great ideas are rampant on YouTube, thought resolution is usually pretty poor.

THIS SUNDAY ...

Yes, well obviously there's some confusion as to how this blog & team was designed to work...

Not everyone may know, but I'm on vacation this week (turned into an all-week family emergency with Blaze having an eye injury, but that's another story).  Angela Amerine (Pastor Glenn's daughter) is leading worship this week and has decided to introduce the song "yesterday, today, and forever", one of her personal favorites.  Although jumping ahead like this is not working through the team as intended (hello confusion), the song is wonderful and will be a blessing to the congregation both this week and for many weeks to come, I'm sure.

(sidenote) - Thank you Angela for your work with the worship team to learn and teach this song and for leading worship this sunday in my absence.

... anyway Nancy Jones and I plan to put together a dessert-get-together for the NewSongs team to meet in person and hammer out how this was designed to work for you all.  In the meantime, just keep throwing your ideas on the blog while we get this thing going.

Darin, Ken, and many others - we've not heard from you ... you out there?

How does this work again?

Mixing rehearsal for this Sunday (4/26) I noticed that "Yesterday, Today & Forever" is part of the song set. That's fine by me, as you could probably tell by my glowing evaluation posted here last week!! But how does that fit in with the purpose of this blog? I thought the song needed 3 positive votes to get onto the "short list" for introduction this summer? So do we drop this one from our list now? Provide feedback after Sunday?
